Twins sweep Jays

9/4 - 9/5 - Rogers Center - Toronto, ON
9/6 - Metrodome - Minneapolis, MN
GAME 1 - Twins 5, Blue Jays 2

Mickey_Hatcher_MIN Ted Lilly gave up 4 runs in the first 2 innings, which was too much for his team's lack of offense to recover from.  Kirby Puckett and Kent Hrbek led off the game with singles.  Mickey Hatcher doubled home Pucket.  Tim Teufel singled home Hrbek and Randy Bush hit a sac fly to right to score Hatcher.  Teufel singled home Jimenez in the second, which made it 4-0 as the Twins were en route to a 4-2 win.

GAME 2 - Twins 4, Blue Jays 3 (12 inn)
Josh Towers pitched a whale of a game (7.2 IP / 1 ER), but theTim_Teufel_MIN bullpen couldn't protect the lead.  Frasor blew the save opportunity in the 9th when the Twins scored 2.  John Castino walked and pinch hitter Ron Washington homered.  It remained tied until the top of the 12th, when Tim Teufel led off the inning with a solo shot.  Ron Davis came on board to notch his 4th save of the season, but he needed some reckless Blue Jay base running to help him in his quest.  With 1 out Orlando Hudson was pegged at second by Tim Laudner in an attempt to steal and move into scoring position.  For all intents and purposes that ended the game and gift wrapped the save to Davis.

GAME 3 - Twins 2, Blue Jays 1
John_Butcher_MIN Toronto looked to avoid the sweep with their ace, Roy Halladay (2-2, 1.24) on the hill.  Doc went the distance, but his counterpart John Butcher (3-2, 3.68) was a tad better.  Halladay gave up 2 runs (1 earned) over 8.  Butcher posted goose eggs for 7.  The Twins scored in the 5th when Laudner reached 1st on an error and with 2 out Kirby Puckett singled him home.  In the 6th pinch hitter John Castino doubled home Gary Gaetti with 2 out.  Ron Davis cameRon_Davis_MIN on in the bottom of the 9th to close it out and again received help from a Blue Jay baserunning blunder.  Jose Rios led off the inning with a double.  Corey Koske attempted to bunt him over to third, but instead bunted the ball too hard and Gaetti threw to Speier who covered on the rotation play.  Rios was out by a step.  Zaun came up next and hit into a line drive double play to end it.
