Bosox take 2 of 3 from M’s

8/28 - 8/29 - Fenway Park - Boston, MA
GAME 1 - Red Sox 5, Mariners 0

MParnell Mel Parnell scattered 5 hits and fanned 9 en-route to the complete game shutout victory over the M's.  George Kell and Ted Lepcio both had 2 hits and 2 RBI's.  Dom DiMaggio returned to the lineup after being on the DL of 10 days.  The "Little Professor" went 1 for 3 and hopes to round back into shape for the stretch run.  Speaking of returning, M's manager Michael Hopcroft returned to the bench after a 1 week absence due to injury.  We're all glad to have him back.

GAME 2 - Red Sox 8, Mariners 2
While we are on the topic of managers, let's focus on PaulHootEvers Johnson, who got his Sahx to the .500 plateau for the first time in his tenure up at Fenway.  Paul is a native of New England, and Red Sox nation is heartily rooting for one of their own to win with their favorite team.  Pitcher Sid Hudson rewarded skipper Johnson with a complete game 10k performance where he allowed only two window dressing runs late.  Basically Hudson was pitching to the scoreboard and his defense appreciated his efforts.  Right fielder Hoot Evers (3-5, 2 RBI) was the big bat in the Bosox lineup as he did a great job holding down the fort for America's favorite Marine pilot, who is serving our country in Korea.

8/30 – Kingdome - Seattle, WA

GAME 3 - Mariners 2, Red Sox 0
CBosio Seattle needed a 1 hitter from Chris Bosio to avoid a sweep.  All of the offense occurred in the bottom of the second when catcher Dave Valle hit a 2 run homer off of hard luck Red Sox starter Ike Delock, who also went the distance and fanned 12, but still wound up on the short side of the ledger.  Dom DiMaggio had the lone hit when he broke up the no hitter in the top of the 7th with 1 out.  Seattle could only manage 3 hits of their own vs Delock, who was the victim of Valle's timely blow.
