Don Drysdale was probably the offensive and defensive player of the week after going 4 for 5 and pitching a complete game victory where he allowed only 1 unearned run vs the Braves. Willie “3-Dog” Davis had 4 hits and 6 RBI’s and in a losing effort Sid Gordon had 4 of the 9 hits that Drysdale scattered.
Frank House had 5 RBI for DET vs ANA
Tim Wallach made 2 costly errors that cost Montreal the game.

Jim Kaat (7 hits / 7 k’s) and Tom Poholsky (6 hits / 6 k’s) both tossed complete game shutouts
Thurman Munson, Clyde Vollmer and Mickey Hatcher all “banged out” 4 hit games.
8/26
Jerry Lynch and Kent Hrbek both had 4 hit games. Lynch also had 2 key RBI’s in a tight win over the Mets. Ken Schrom tossed a 3 hitter vs Seattle while Hrbek provided the “O”
Dick Green and Marc Hill both made 2 key errors and hurt their respective Bay Area clubs.
