Tribe tops Bosox

8/20 - 8/22 - Cleveland Municipal Stadium
GAME 1 - Indians 10, Red Sox 2
Larry_Doby_CLE 4 runs in the 1st + 4 runs in the 4th = a treat for the hometown fans.  Larry Doby went 3 for 4 including his 3rd homer of the season.  Bobby Avila had 3 RBI's as the Tribe walked all over the Sahwx.

GAME 2 - Red Sox 9, Indians 8
When your starter give us 7 runs you usually lose.Rocky_Colavito_CLE   Thankfully for the Bosox their offense was able to score 9.  5 Bosox players, including challenged starter, Mickey McDermott had 2 hits.  Ellis Kinder cam on to pitch the final 4 outs and almost blew it.  Overshadowed by his team's loss was the fact that "The Rock", Rocky Colavito slammed 3 solo homers and increased his average to .438 on the season.

GAME 3 - Indians 2, Red Sox 1
Jim_Piersall_BOS Cal Mclish (3-0, 1.33) and Mel Parnell (1-2, 3.10) restored order by treating the fans to a much welcomed pitcher's duel.  Both hurlers went the distance and both gave up all of their respective runs in the 1st.  Clyde Vollmer singled home Jimmy Piersall for Boston's lone run.  With the bases loaded and 1 out Larry Doby singled home Mickey Vernon and The Rock, who went 2 for 3 with a walk to boost his average up to .457.
