Comeback Chisox take 2 of 3 from M’s

8/20 - 8/22 - Comiskey Park- Chicago, IL

GAME 1 - White Sox 3, Mariners 2
Carlos_May_CHW Erik Hanson left after 7 shutout innings only to see Jeff Nelson implode and deliver 3 runs to the Chisox and the game.  Jorge Orta led off the 8th with a clean single to right and Dick Allen followed suit to put runners on the corners.  Nelson lost track of Allen, who swiped second thus forcing an unintentional / intentional pass to Ken Henderson to load the bases.  Bill Melton walked to force in the Chisox first run of the day.  Allen the scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-2.  Carlos May delivered the knock out blow by singling home Melton.  Terry "fat tub of goo" Forster pitched a scoreless 9th for the save.

GAME 2 - White Sox 10, Mariners 2
After 6 1/2 innings of play the game was knotted at 8.  StartersDick_Allen_CHW Tim Leary and Jim Kaat were long gone and thankfully so.  The Southsider's went a head for good when Dick Allen hit a 2 run shot.  Forster and Goose Gossage combined in the 9th to save the game.  Lost in the shuffle was Ken Griffey Jr's 2nd homer in the last 2 games.

GAME 3 - Mariners 4, White Sox 2
Ken_Griffey_Jr_SEA This time the Pale Hose's comeback came up 2 runs short as Wilber Wood (1-2, 4.03) took the loss.  Fleming went 8 innings and gave up only 1 unearned run for the win.  Jeff Nelson watched his ERA balloon to 10.80 as he gave up a worthless run to the Pale Hose in the bottom of the 9th and somehow was credited with the save.  Ken Griffey Jr. was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI, but broke his consecutive game HR streak.
