M’s hold off Halos to win Wild Card Play in Game

NCharlton The play-in game at Anaheim was slugfest from the start. Seattle scored five runs in the first two innings, chasing Anaheim started Bottenfield from the game. The Angels countered with a six-run fifth to take a 6-5 lead and get rid of Seattle's Starter, Bosio. The bullpens took it from there, and played very variably. Seattle got two runs in the seventh to take an 8-6 lead,. Mo Vaughn homered in the eight to trim the lead to one, but Seattle scored again in the ninth and Norm Charlton pitched a near-perfect inning to save the game. The Mariners advance to the wild card round with a 9-7 win. Aryault earned his first win of the year from the M's, while Hasegawa fell to 1-5 with the loss.
