8/12
- Vinegar Bend Mizell threw a 1 hitter, but thanks to an unearned run he did not get a complete game shutout.
- Frank Viola tossed a 1-0 shutout over the White Sox
- Warren Spahn had a 2-0 shutout over Cincy
- Rick Reuschel had a 6-0 shutout over the Mets
- Gary Carter went 4 for 9 + caught every inning in the 20 inning affair between the Expos and Padres
- Barry Bonds slammed 2 homers and had 2 HR's vs the Mets
8/13
- The Great Sandy Koufax fans 14 Giants in 10 innings worth of work. Sandy got a no decision thanks to 2 unearned runs. Most impressive is that he didn't walk a single batter.
- Max Surkont coasted to a 6-0 shutout of the Redlegs.
- Teammates Frank Catalanato and Eric Hinske both hit a pair of homers vs the A's. Hinske had 6 RBI's
- Maury Wills went 4 for 5 vs the Giants.
- Tim Raines stole 3 bases in one game (5 in the series) vs the Padres

- Larry Doby went 4 for 5 vs the Yanks
